When the world ends: A look at the movies that will end 2020
We’re almost at the end of the 2020 calendar year, and there’s still a ton of movies to see.
Here’s a look at a few that have already been announced for theaters across the globe.
1.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (Warner Bros. Pictures) The final installment in Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy is slated to be released on May 27, 2020, just two months before the start of the New Year.
The film has received glowing reviews and was an early favorite for best picture at the Golden Globes, but the Hobbit is still a long way from its predecessor.
The first Hobbit film, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, was released in 1997 and was a critical and commercial success.

The Last Samurai (Toho) This samurai flick is set in feudal Japan during World War II, and is about the rise of the samurai, a group of warrior men who are sworn to protect their feudal lord from outside forces.
The series has received mixed reviews from critics, and was one of the few films to be nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture.

Black Hawk Down (Paramount Pictures) Black Hawk is a WWII fighter jet pilot who has been captured by a mysterious organization.
When he awakens, he discovers that he is being watched by the leader of the organization, who is also being watched.
After a long battle, he manages to escape his captors and take refuge with his daughter in the Black Hawk helicopter.

The Legend of Tarzan (Fox Searchlight) Tarzan is a 16th century African American man who is the son of a black man and a white woman.
The story centers around a young boy who, in order to become a better man, must save his father from the evil and wickedness of his past.

The BFG (Warwick Films) The BFF is a small, furry little dog that’s seen the bad guys and wins their hearts with his wisecracks and sweet demeanor.
The movie also stars Dwayne Johnson, who portrays BFG.

X-Men: Apocalypse (Marvel Studios) The Apocalypse universe is expanding to include new mutants and villains, and X-MEN: Apocalypse is about a young man with a mutant heart who decides to use his powers to help the world.

The Great Beauty (Universal Pictures) This is a tale of a girl who was adopted by the king of a powerful kingdom in the Pacific Northwest, but she finds herself at odds with the ruler.

The Hateful Eight (Sony Pictures) With the release of the movie, it’s now time for a major sequel and a third installment.
The eight films in this franchise follow the lives of four characters who meet each other for the first time in this film.

Zootopia (Fox) The first movie to be remade from the comic book series, Zootropolis, was a hit at the box office.
The sequel, Zodiac, was the highest grossing animated film of all time.

The Big Sick (Paradigm) A couple of weeks ago, Fox announced a major re-release of The Big Short, which was released over three decades ago in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The latest installment, The Biggest Loser, will be released in 2020.
The 20th anniversary edition of the film, released in 2012, will also be released this year.

Wonder Woman (Warners Bros. Animation) The Wonder Woman movie is coming to theaters on March 25, 2021, and the trailer is set to be an emotional celebration of the character.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (Universal Studios) This story of a French businessman who falls in love with a Hungarian princess has been the highest-grossing movie of all-time.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence (Paranormal Activity) The film will tell the story of the A. I. Artificial intelligence, a humanoid that will eventually have its own family.

The Jungle Book (Universal) The Jungle book is the most successful Disney animated film ever.
Disney and Pixar will be releasing a new film about the original movie in 2020, titled The Jungle, based on J.R.
R Tolkien’s novels.

Thor: Ragnarok (Marvel) This film is set for release on March 4, 2021.

Black Panther (Marvel Cinematic Universe) This African American hero is one of Marvel Studios’ most iconic superheroes.
Black panthers are a race of animals who live in the forests of Africa and live in tribes of savannah-like savannahs.

Black Widow (Marvel Comics) Marvel Studios will release this next film based on one of their most popular
