What do you think of the new Juventus goalkeeping coach?
Football Italian will provide the definitive verdict on the new man at the helm of Juventus, Andrea Pirlo, as the Bianconeri look to improve on the 2-0 defeat to Milan last Sunday.
The new coach is looking to bring the team back into the Champions League after a disastrous run of results, with the Rossoneri sitting at 11th in Serie A, and only three points above the relegation zone.
Juventus had a tough night in the second leg against the Rossi, with a penalty shootout defeat to Inter.
The Bianconeri’s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, is yet to make his debut for the club, having started just one game this season.
Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that the only way he is able to bring Buffon back to the starting line-up is if he starts in the last 16 of the Champions Leagues.
Pirlo has been a regular in the Biancocelesti’s starting XI since arriving from AC Milan in 2013, but the 26-year-old is still only 27.
Pierluigi Casperini, Pirlow’s compatriot and a player who also trained under Allegri in Milan, was also absent, with Pirlos lack of experience at the top level a major concern for Allegri.
Casperini has been one of Allegri’s most consistent players, having gone on to become Juventus’ captain and is now in the final year of his contract.
Casparini, who made his Juventus debut in the 4-1 victory over Udinese on the final day of the Serie A season, was given his first start for Allegrini on Saturday night, but only came on as a second-half substitute.
Casalini has a long history of success at the Juventus training ground, having joined the Biancanos from Fiorentina in 2013.
Pirla has not made his competitive debut since 2010, and Allegri will need to find someone to replace Casper, who is currently out of contract in 2020.
The team also has a new goalkeeping boss in the form of Andrea Pizzaro, who was appointed to the job on Thursday.
Pizzaro joined Juventus from Inter in January, and has impressed the coach with his work rate, composure and technique, with Allegri looking to add more competition in goal this summer.
