‘The Hateful Eight’ star: ‘I was the only actor who was happy’
By Dan GartlandPublished November 30, 2018 04:37:55This year’s Halloween film “The Haughty Eight” is set to return to theaters after two years out of the theatres, and director Denis Villeneuve is ready to show what he can do with a new version.
“I was so proud to see it come back to the screen,” Villeneuk told The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive interview for the film’s upcoming Halloween installment.
“I was thrilled, and I was so glad I could do it.”
The new version, which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Tom Hardy, stars Oscar winner John Goodman as John, a father of four who is working on his own career in Hollywood and in a new TV show with the show’s creator, David Fincher.
“He’s an honest, humble guy,” Villenueve said.
“He’s very smart and smartly funny and very well-spoken.
He’s very talented and he has a gift for directing.”
The film is set for release in the fall.
“There’s a little bit of something there that’s new,” Villaneu said of the new version of the film.
“It’s not exactly the same, but it’s a whole different approach.”
The first “The Eight” was released in the summer of 2014, and the film earned $3.2 million at the box office.
The new version is set up to be released on October 21, 2019.
