Google Play Movies’ Nicolas Cage will be starring in a sequel to his hit ‘Get out’ movie, the company has confirmed.
Cage will star as the lead role in Netflix’s upcoming sequel, titled ‘Getout 2,’ in which Cage is played by the actor himself.
The film will also be available for streaming on Netflix in the United States.
The film will feature Cage in a supporting role, playing an unnamed young man who returns home to find his family and friends murdered in an abandoned home.
The character was inspired by a murder of Cage’s father in 2002, which he later described as “the most surreal and harrowing experience of my life.”
Cage has played many roles on TV and films, most recently appearing in Showtime’s ‘The Jinx,’ where he also won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as former police detective Ray Kelly in the HBO series.
The original Get Out, which was released in 2016, was nominated for an Emmy for Best Picture, and Cage won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his portrayal of Kelly.
Cage recently returned to Hollywood, and has been cast in several upcoming film projects, including ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Divergent,’ both of which are scheduled to open this summer.
